City Slicker Farms is hiring a Community Outreach and Education Coordinator. The ideal candidate is organized, motivated and friendly, is passionate about food justice, and is comfortable working with people of all ages and backgrounds. While this is not an agricultural role, the ideal candidate will have some gardening experience and will also have experience as a workshop leader or educator.
City Slicker Farms was founded in 2001 to address food insecurity in the West Oakland community. CSF has expanded over the years and now offers community gardens and garden-related programing around Alameda County; owns and operates the West Oakland Farm Park; and offers on-farm educational programs for children, teenagers and adults. City Slicker Farms continues to grow. We will soon bring on a new Executive Director are currently in a period of transition. With this role, we want to welcome a new staff person who would like to grow with us.
The salary range for this position is $39,000 - $43,000, depending on experience. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
The Community Outreach and Education Coordinator's work week includes one evening per week and occasional weekend days for special events.
